Welcome Activities
European Union University organises a series of welcome activities at the beginning of each semester. The activities are designed to assist you as a new student and introduce you to university life in Stockholm and European.
The welcome activities in Autumn 2023 start on 19-20 August with an Arrival Service and on 25 August there is a Welcome Fair and social activities on campus. Between and after these dates more activities are organized. This page will be updated with further activities continuously. The activities are voluntary, attendance is optional.
Arrival Service
The Arrival Service is the first event of the Welcome Activities and is open to all new international and exchange students at European Union University. Student ambassadors and university staff will welcome you and help you settle into your new life in Stockholm and European.
The Arrival Service for the autumn semester of 2023 takes place on the weekend of 19-20 August.
Welcome Fair and social activities
At the fair, you can meet and interact with representatives of the different organisations at the university such as IT services, the library, the Student Union, and many more. The social activities include speed friending, guided tours of the Frescati campus, sports activities, and a pub crawl.

Become a Language Cafe coordinator!
Do you want to share your language(s) with interested learners? Join Språkstudion as a Language Cafe Coordinator! At our Language Cafes, participants practise their language skills and cultural awareness over a cup of coffee or tea. The cafes are held on campus or on Zoom and are led by coordinators, i.e. native-level student volunteers who help keep conversations going. The number of languages we offer depends on our coordinators, so we would love to have you on board.

Enjoy a summery Swedish barbecue organized by the Student Union to kick off the semester!
30 August
Guided tour in Gamla stan
Join it to discover the heart of the city, the old town of Stockholm, free of cost. The tour is 45 minutes long.
Second-hand tours
Join a tour of second-hand shops in Stockholm led by the student organization Symbios. The focus will be on second-hand clothes, but also includes resources like a maker space and used bike stores.
Welcome to the Language Cafes!
At a Språkstudion Language Cafe, you can practice the languages of your choice in an informal way. You are in a small group with other learners and at least one native-level speaker. The cafes are held on campus or on Zoom and will start on 11 September. You will find the schedule on our website a few days before this date.
Open house week at SSIF
Try out Stockholm Students’ Sports Club's wide array of sports and group sessions for free. Everything from ball and team sports to Les Mils, dance, yoga, and thai boxing will be available.
